David Sydow, DDS
This lifelong Cubs fan uses his quirky sense of humor and years of experience in the dental field to relax patients, make their visit with him enjoyable and leave them smiling.
Dr. Sydow first became interested in dentistry when his third grade teacher would spit out her dentures to yell at the class. So when it came time for him to begin his college career, it was no surprise the direction he chose. He graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1970 with a degree in Biology, then went on to attend the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1974.
After graduation, Dr. Sydow joined the then newly formed practice Associates in Dentistry where he manned their first satellite office in Elmwood. By 1977, he became a partner in the practice, working from both the Elmwood and Peoria offices and continuing his initial interest in dentistry by working part-time at Denture Delivery Systems. Today, Dr. Sydow works solely from our Elmwood office practicing all aspects of dentistry.
When he isn’t trying to outlast the front desk personnel at the Elmwood office, Dr. Sydow can be found spending time with his family, bicycling, woodworking, doing home improvement projects and collecting stamps. Dr. Sydow and his wife Paula have been married for over 35 years. They have two sons, two wonderful daughters-in-law and a beautiful granddaughter.
